Well, having been chastised by my brother in law, Chuck Pio, at Thanksgiving by, "Where you been? I haven't seen you participating in the blog!" I thought I'd better get my act together and, PARTICIPATE!!!
Actually, I was just recovering from the recent Wolverine football season --- and still am I shock! Hopefully, we're not going to go through the extended downturn that Nebraska and Notre Dame are experiencing.
Hey, do any of you guys remember the pitcher, Ron Nischwitz, who pitched for the Tigers in the early to mid 1960's? He was from Dayton, Ohio and later returned to coach baseball at Wright State University.
Going back further, how about Don Lund? He played football and baseball at Michigan in the 1940s. I believe he also played professionally for the Chicago Bears, but also was with the Tigers. He married a cousin of my father and when my kids went to Michigan, a couple of my Uncle's were estatic and put me in touch with Don. What a nice man.
How's that Pio?
Hey, do any of you guys go to Phoenix area for the winter? My son lives in Phoenix and the last few years I go out in early March for 4 or 5 days and we hang out watching spring training games. If so, maybe we can connect. Next year my Cincy Reds will be in Phoenix area as will the Dodgers. Cleveland begins this coming st. The Indians and Reds will be at the same facility.
